A place worth seeing. A story worth sharing.

The commission brought together a series of films for Peak District National Park, with subjects spanning tourism, volunteering, stakeholder relationships and support for the park. The work combined drone and ground filming to show both the scale of the landscape and the people connected to it.

Show the place. Explain why it matters.

A landscape film can create a sense of wonder, but the brief reached beyond scenery. The collection also needed to tell stories about volunteering, the people working in the park, and the support that helps care for it.

That gave the series several purposes. Some films could introduce the park to visitors, while others could explain the work behind it or connect with people who wanted to contribute.

Aerial views and human stories.

Drone footage gave a wider view of the landscape, while handheld filming brought the work closer to the people and places on the ground. Using both perspectives let the films connect a sense of scale with individual experiences.

The selected films move between an introduction to the park, its staff and volunteers, and the role of its supporters. Each tells a part of the wider story.

Films for more than one setting.

The content was used internally and on social media, and was also shown at the National Park’s visitor centres. That mix of settings gave the work a life beyond a single online release.

A film seen at a visitor centre and a film shared online meet audiences in different circumstances. A clear subject and a strong sense of place help the story carry across those settings.

A series built around the park’s purpose.

Everyone’s Park introduces the National Park; Our Staff and Volunteers brings its people into focus; Started by You, Supported by You speaks to the support behind it. All three examples are published on Peak District National Park’s YouTube channel.

Together, they show how a place-based organisation can use a series of films to welcome visitors, explain its work and share the voices of the people involved.
