Village Green
An inviting website for a North Yorkshire climate project, making it easier to discover local activity, meet the partnership and get involved.
Local action. A shared digital home.
Village Green is a three-year community climate project in North Yorkshire, funded by the National Lottery Climate Action Fund and led by Community First Yorkshire. Its website brings together the programme's partners, practical resources, events, news and the people delivering the work. The proposed brief was to create a welcoming place to introduce the project and help people take their next step.
The challenge
A partnership project has several voices and many things to share. The challenge was to explain the big idea simply, make local activity visible and give visitors a welcoming route into participation. The site needed to feel hopeful and grounded in everyday life rather than distant or abstract.
The approach
I developed reusable Enfold layouts around the project's main needs: introducing the programme, sharing practical resources, promoting events and publishing local stories. A strong Village Green identity and campaign-led homepage make the project recognisable, while team profiles and partner logos show the people and organisations behind it. Clear links into the contact and newsletter sections give visitors a useful next step. The same page system supports regular updates as the programme grows.
The result
The website gives Village Green a recognisable place to bring its work together. People can understand the programme, find a story that interests them and see how to make contact. For the partnership, it provides a flexible base for sharing progress and giving local activity a wider audience as the project grows.
