Inside Leeds: Life at Mills & Reeve film still

20+ films. One production partner.

Mills & Reeve is a UK law firm working with businesses, organisations and individuals. For a business built on expertise and relationships, film makes both more tangible. This body of work brings together the firm’s own people and voices from the wider business community, with a clear purpose for each film: introduce a place, explain an idea or show what happens when people connect.

A different purpose for every film.

The subjects ranged from workplace culture to entrepreneurship and technical expertise. Each film needed its own focus: personality and a sense of place for an office portrait, a clear thread for an expert interview, and a feeling for the people and purpose behind an event. The shared aim was to make professional subjects feel human and approachable.

From the first plan to the final film.

I handled every aspect of the video production, including planning, filming and post-production. That means the same person can carry the idea all the way through: thinking about the story, preparing contributors, capturing the material and shaping the finished piece.

The starting point is the audience: who is watching and what should stay with them afterwards? That direction informs the interviews, supporting footage and edit, giving each film a structure that carries its message without making contributors sound scripted.

Expertise with a human voice.

The Leeds film tells the firm’s story through its team and their connection to the city. The West Midlands interviews give specialists room to explain cyber resilience, business growth and AI. Top Tech Yorkshire shifts the focus to a wider community of founders, mentors and business leaders. The people closest to the subject explain why it matters.

The finished collection.

The films are published on Mills & Reeve’s YouTube channel, where their stories can be watched and shared beyond the original conversation or event. The four examples here show the range of this wider body of work, with the same care carried through from planning to final delivery.
